Welcome to the Weekly Digest
We are currently taking a two-week break from our Psalms series for our Better Together mini-series. The Psalms reading plan information and memory verse are included here so you can stay on track for when we return to the Psalms series on Sunday, October 17th.
Reading Plan September 26th-October 16th
Psalms 26-30. Read and reflect on Psalm 27 in preparation for Sunday, October 17th’s teaching.
Scripture Memorization
Scripture memorization is an important discipline to introduce to our lives as a way to actively hide God’s word in our heart. It allows us to not only internalize the text, but to share that truth with others more readily.
Memory Verses for October: Psalm 46:10-11
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Journal Prompts / Discussion Questions From Today’s Teaching
1. How does the reality of the Trinity reflect God’s intentionality regarding Biblical community?
2. Diagram the relationship of the members of the trinity to one another.
God the Father
God the Son
God the Holy Spirit
3. How did sin fracture the relationship between God and creation? How did sin fracture our
community with each other?
4. Christ came to redeem all that is broken by sin, not to exclude our relationships.
What we have in common as believers is encouragement in Christ, comfort in His love,
fellowship in the Spirit, and undeserved mercy. Take a moment and reflect on each of these
and journal what they mean to you.
5. When it comes to community what shield or shields are you hiding behind? Describe moments
in your life when you have moved away from others, move against others, and moved toward
others.
6. How can you intentionally move toward community in your life today?
